What Did You Create This Year?

This is the final Clear Your Clutter Inside & Out blog for 2021. It’s hard to believe we’re about to close another year. I’m going to encourage you to take the time to do a year-end-reflection so you can course correct, acknowledge your hard work and take steps to make your dreams a reality.

Here are my tips to end the year well.

Reviewing 2021: Year-End Reflection

Prioritizing-For-Next-Year

As 2021 winds down, take a moment of reflection. How did this year go for you? What made you exhausted, angry or upset? Did you accomplish all that you hoped to? What are you really proud of doing? Is there something that was particularly challenging? What, or who was holding you back.

Remember not to judge yourself, but be more of an archeologist digging for buried treasure to help you course correct, listen to your heart and engage in life fully. When we don’t check in with ourselves, we can run into trouble. Make it a regular habit to see where you are and if it’s where you want to be.  Make sure you’re taking good care of yourself as you’re trying to accomplish your goals.

Give Thanks

This is also a great time to take a moment of gratitude. Are you able to easily express how you feel or are you challenged in finding all that you have to be grateful for? Do you find yourself aware of all you have or are you constantly focused on what you don’t have?

Again, leave the judgment at the door. Judging yourself just takes away precious energy that can be spent focusing on making yourself a better person. We all face challenges and we can all improve our lives!

Celebrate

Find ways to celebrate that speak to your soul. A lot of times we can get caught up in obligations or what we feel we must do. I encourage you to get out of that thinking and do what moves you.  Create new traditions, find a group to hang out with, or try something that you’ve always wanted to.

Find a way before the end of the year to pay it forward. You don’t have to be a millionaire to accomplish this. Little things like letting someone in when there’s a bunch of traffic or holding the door for someone.  Consider buying a homeless person a meal or paying the fee for a cat or dog at the shelter to be adopted.

Moving Forward

Contemplate what you’d like to see more of in 2022. What do you want less of in your life? Who do you really want to spend time with that makes you happy? Are you in the right career or is it time for a change?

Journaling is a great way to get to your soul and find answers to your questions.

What did you discover after taking time to contemplate 2021?  What are you most grateful for during the year and right now? How did you celebrate and honor yourself? And how were you able to pay it forward and spread random acts of kindness? What else would you add to my list of end of year musings?

Go out clear the clutter to create the life you choose, deserve and desire!
