You don’t have to be running a business from home to create an organized, clutter free and inspiring office. Even if you have a small desk area, you can make it organized and inspiring.

In this month’s bonus episode, learn tips to setting up and making your home office and inspiring place.

You don’t have to be running a business from home to create an organized clutter free and inspiring office. Even if you have a small desk area, you can make it organized and inspiring. Let’s get started. Physical organization. The first thing you want to consider is the location of your home office if you have options in your home, I’m going to encourage you if possible to designate this area is the home office. Important stuffs here, taxes, legal documents bill paying, it doesn’t have to be an entire room, but definitely a designated space. Your mind and body will get used to this and mentally and physically prepare to do home office tasks. Try to keep clutter free as much as possible. Here’s some more tips. You want the area to be comfortable You want to be able to pay bills here or work on your taxes, but not too comfortable that you want to take a nap. fresh air. It’s excellent if you can be sent near some natural light and have the option of opening up windows. Quiet, the TV room would not be a good place for the office. His concentration is most likely needed when working on home insurance paying bills or reviewing health care plans. Keep distractions to a minimum well it even if you have Windows make sure it is well lit for nighttime work. A good chair especially if you will be sitting for some time. If you don’t have any options for where your offices say the basement, make improvements where you can bring in a fan for some air, invest in good lighting and a good chair. Some more practical tips for functionality in your home office space. A desk with built in storage spaces ideal you have lots of room as well as options to store what you need on a regular basis. An l or U shape is ideal for working. Comfort and ergonomics is important to keep these in mind when hunting for a desk, not a lot of money. Check out your state’s surplus store where they sell a variety of items, you may be able to score an awesome desk. If you don’t have a lot of desk storage, make sure you have sturdy containers to store office supplies or whatever else you will use in your home office. Don’t forget vertical options if you don’t have a lot of options for horizontal storage. Make sure you have cord control and not in danger of tripping over cords. There are lots of products out there to corral cords but you could always simplify it with a pipe cleaner tie or twist tie zones. I’m a fan of creating zones in your home office. Even if your home office is a small desk area, you can still create zones. Set up zones for the work that takes place in your office. paying bills live library, filing reference and office supplies keep broad categories to make it easier to find stuff. I have a Library Reference area on one shelf or reference books to anything work related organizing function a writing at the source etc. My personal books are also on the same bookcase but are separated because both my husband and I use the office and it combines both personal and professional zones are very helpful. Business files are separate from home files. I also have an area for podcasting because I do it on a regular basis. Everything is set up in one zone. Nothing else is in that zone so it doesn’t become cluttered and it’s easy to find what I need

and inspiration. Your space needs to not only have good working conditions such as lighting and comfort, but you also need to be inspired to be there. Even if it is to pay bills and taxes. If you’re more inspired to be there, you’re more likely to get the task done that you need to. Here are some ways to make your space inspiring. Color add color paint the walls at a beanbag or colorful throw pillows there are lots of options to brighten up a space. Put whatever your favorite is, it energizes and inspires you or calms you and brings you peace. Whatever is most important for you to feel in that space. add color, quotes, pictures, artwork that inspires you whatever moment You place it here it is a picture of the beach that reminds you the payoff for paying the bills place that here is a quote on gratitude to remind you to be grateful and paying bills put that there. Having things that inspire you without creating clutter make a difference. personal items such as family photos can make the area warm and inviting. We have a cat tree in front of the window in our office that the cats us We love having the pets in our office while we do work. Set up a mini shrine and have a zone of random things that motivate you, Fung Shui tips in every Fung Shui book I’ve read, experts recommend first clearing clutter. Once you’ve cleared the clutter and gotten organized you can have some fun with Fung Shui. Here are some Fung Shui tips when it comes to designing and creating your office space. your desk should face the door to welcome business. The entryway to your home or business. The door shouldn’t stick the path should be clear It you should be able to easily find and read the numbers to the house. You want power symbols in here water, black undulating shapes such as water, mirrors, glass, metal, white and round symbols of the path you want to be on. What’s bad for this area is dirt, squares, earth tones and pictures of what you don’t want to do. You’d be surprised of how many people that have that in their office space takeaways from today’s podcast. Set up zones for the work that takes place in your office, paying bills, library, filing office supplies, etc. Create a home office with good working conditions such as lighting and comfort. Add inspiration to your space with color pictures, quotes and artwork to create a space you want to spend time in. Go out clear the clutter to create the life you choose deserve and deserve Dyer.
